Building material prices: BMS urges govt to intervene

PALAKKAD: The Palakkad District Construction Workers Sangham, affiliated to the BMS, which met here on Sunday, in a resolution urged the government to intervene and control the prices of building materials.

The meeting has observed that the prices of steel, cement, paint, sand granite have hit an all-time high. The government is passive. Even after the decision to import cement, the local prices have not decreased.

Union president S Rajendran presided over the meet. Kerala Pradesh Construction Workers Federation (BMS) state general secretary M K Kamalan inaugurated the conference.
