KOZHIKODE: BJP State vice-president V Mureleedharan has asked the State Government to withdraw from the move to launch the Pathrakkadavu hydel project.

Addressing a news conference here on Friday, he said the BJP suspects some ulterior motives behind the project. “We will come out the moment we get concrete evidence in this regard,” he said.

Muraleedharan alleged that the government is planning to borrow more fund from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

“We have learned that the Government has made moves to get funds for the municipalities. ADB offices have been opened at Alappuzha and Thalassery,” he said.

He warned that the BJP will swing into action if the Government decided to install metres on public water taps. “The government has already introduced service charge in various sectors as demanded by the ADB.”

BJP district president V V Rajan and general secretary P Raghunath were also present at the news conference.
