The swearing of Dewaswom members will assassinate democracy : Kummanam
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : When the Devaswom Board members sworn in in Secretariat it was akin to the burial of democracy in the Secretariat premises.
The Cabinet has taken over the reign of the state not for taking over temples and mats, but for securing the welfare of the people. Now the scenario is strange: A Kshethra Raksha Yathra is required for protecting the temples ! It was the devotees in Malabar who renovated the temples destroyed during Tippu’s onslaught. It is those temples that Government has issued notice for taking over. Since there are Thiruvabharana Special Officers why do they appoint Special Officers for assessing gold ornaments ? New Act has been imposed without appointing any authority to stop corruption.
Those who claim that they would appoint commission to stop corruption, do not say anything about reports, which still accumulates dust, about the excesses done to Hindus. Mammootty, an aspirant of Nobel Prize, should also air his views on Chekannur Moulavi Muder case, Abhaya case and other Jihadi communal riots.
Swami Abhayananda Theertha Padar presided. Hindu Aikyavedi Org Secy M. Radhakrishnan, VHP Gen Secy Kalati Mani Kantan, Swami Ayyappadas, J. Sishupalan, Savithri Amma, P. Jyothishkumar, K. Anilkmar and N. Mohan spoke on the occasion.
