KOCHI: All foreign missionaries involved in proselytising should be arrested and expelled from the country, VHP state secretary Kummanam Rajasekaran said.

He said that legal action had to be initiated against such groups in India. Addressing a press conference in Kochi on Thursday, Kummanam said that the VHP would be forced to carry out protest marches to their residences and convention centres if the government turned a deaf ear to the issue.

“The foreign missionaries who arrive in India using tourist visas are breaking the rules on public speech,” he said.

“Only those people with special visa can spread their religion, participate in religious ceremonies here.

The special visa holders should submit their daily activity report and copies of their speech to the District Collector.

The missionaries use business visas and tourist visas to get into the country and start spreading religion, which is illegal,” Kummanam said.
