Kochi: Hindu Organizations, Sabarimala Thantri, Religous scholars and  Devaswom Member out rightly rejected the move of Sudhagaran to create controversy to violate sacred traditions in Sabarimala-The abode of Lord Ayyapa.

A meeting of representatives of Hindu organisations and members of the Thazhamon family, traditionally the family of Tanthris of the Sabarimala temple decided to oppose the move of Sudhagaran regarding entry of women in their youth. Meeting also demanded apology from the Minister who humiliated lakhs of Ayyapa devotees as ‘drunkards’

Thazhmon family member Advocate Krishnanasan presided the meeting attended by representatives of AyyapaSevasangham, Akshayakalapeedom, Yogakshemasabha, Federation of SC & ST, Hindu Navodhana Movement and Hindu Aikya Vedi.Rahul Eswar the grandson of Thantri also attended the meeting.

Hindu Akya Vedi opposed Sudhakaran’s stand saying that as the deity of the Sabarimala temple is a Brahmachari, women of fertile age could not be seen at the temple premises. When the dispute had reached the Kerala Hight Court , it had in 1993 ruled against women between ten and 50 years of age entering the temple.

Thiruvananthapuram Palace secretary in a press meet informed that Amma Maharani’s darsan in Sabarimala was at the age of 53 and not during the fertile age. The remarks of Sudhagaran regarding   Sethu Parvathi Bhai’s Sabarimala Temple visit are aimed to tarnish the sacred abode and to portray Travancore Royal family in bad light.

Devaswom Board female member P.K.Sumathykutty Amma also echoed the opinion of Hindus in general. She told Devaswom board is also against Minister’s attempt to interfere in Temple rituals and traditions.
