THRISSUR: Protesting against the failure of the Education Department in resolving the crisis situation in school text books and move to hand over administration of schools to local self-governments, and demanding resignation of the Education Minister, ABVP has called a state-wide education bandh on Thursday, ABVP state secretary VP Rajeevan said.

Talking to reporters at a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that Education Minister MA Baby had miserably failed in solving the problems in the education sector. Textbooks for students from first to tenth standard are yet to be made available.

The CBSE schools should also take part in the strike, he said. The fate of the Plus-I students still hangs in balance as a final decision with regard to their text books is to wait for the ruling of the court.
