Ramakrishna Math chief passes away

KOLKATA: Swami Gahanananda, the 14th president of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, passes away here after a prolonged illness. He was 91. Swami Gahanananda was admitted to hospital on September 4th. He will be cremated at the Belur Math headquarters today, math sources said. Born in Paharpur village in Sylhet district, he joined the Ramakrishna Order in Bhubaneswar in January 1939 at the age of 22.
