Kochi: Kerala High Court on Monday refused to allow the plea of the Elite Food Products to quash the action taken by the TDB to cancel its contract for the manufacture of Aravana. However, the court sought the explanation of the Devaswom Board in the matter.

The Devaswom Board on Saturday had decided to cancel the contract awarded to the Elite group for the manufacture of Aravana after the distribution of the prasadam had gone haywire.

At the same time, other companies, which had quoted lower amounts for the contract for manufacture of Aravana also, are reportedly planning to approach the court. Sources said the legal troubles could complicate matters for the Devaswom Board, which was already in the middle of a host of allegations.
