CPM indulging in vote-bank politics: Minority Morcha

KOCHI: The CPM which opposes the Muslim League is now supporting Madhani and this clearly shows the vote-bank politics of that party, said a resolution passed by the BJP Minority Morcha state meet held here on Sunday.

The state-level delegate’s meet was inaugurated by Minority Morcha all-India general secretary Janab Abdul Rasheed Ansari.

The resolution also observed that the meet called by the CPM in Kozhikode to discuss the Sachar Committee report was just for religious appeasement.

“The Muslim community was able to identify the true face of the CPM from the issues that took place in Nandigram, Nadapuram, Kadavathoor and Thalassery. It is in West Bengal, where the CPM has been at the helm, that the Muslim community lags behind compared with other states. Instead of wooing the communities the LDF Government should try to address the concerns of the minorities,” the resolution said.

Commenting on the stand-off between the Thamarasseri bishop and CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, the resolution said that the CPM leaders should abstain from unwanted criticism of the religious leaders.

The Minority Morcha demanded that those leaders or members of the party who are not believers of Gods should not be members of any religious institutions.

Criticising the LDF Government, the resolution said that the governance was at a standstill due to the cold war between the Chief Minister and the party secretary.

“It is nothing but state sponsored terrorism being witnessed in Nandigram. The same party which claims to fight for the working class are now acting as real estate brokers for top players,” the resolution alleged.

BJP leaders O. Rajagopal, C.K. Padmanabhan, Minority Morcha state president K.V. Sabu, Mathew Pylee, B. Radakrishna Menon were present.
