Global help must to flush out militants from Pak: Rajnath

BJP national president Rajnath Singh has said that international military cooperation is necessary to destroy the terrorist training camps operating in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Inaugurating the State council meeting of the BJP in Kochi on Sunday, Singh said that Pakistan had already proved that it was a dangerous country with several terrorist training camps operating inside its boundaries. The assassination of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was a telling proof of this fact, he pointed out.

The BJP president said that India should join the axis of international military cooperation to flush out militants holed up in camps in Pakistan and Bangladesh and should take measures to safeguard the interests of the country.

Rajnath Singh also said that the Congress was not following the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi any more. He sarcastically remarked that Gandhi for Congressmen was merely the surname of Sonia and Rahul. He went further to say that the BJP was the only party that was following the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi, and not the Congress led by Sonia Gandhi.

In a scathing attack on the Left, Rajnath Singh said that the CPI(M) was supporting the UPA Government at the Centre without taking any responsibility of the misdeeds of the Government. He alleged that the CPI(M) and the CPI were playing dirty politics on the people of the country by supporting the Government and pretending to be opposing some of its policies at the same time. The BJP chief said that was a classic example of the duplicity practiced by the Left forces in the country for long.

Singh said the BJP was capable of breaking the political jinx in the State. The party was taking the initiative to form a credible third front in Kerala, he said. The BJP leader, however, refused to mention the likely partners in an NDA model Third Front alliance in the State.

State BJP president PK Krishnadas, in his address, said the party was in support of the positions taken by the NSS and the SNDP on certain issues related to the Hindu customs and beliefs. He said that the SNDP general secretary Velapally Natesan had vehemently opposed the move of the State Government to take over the reins of the famous Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram. He added that the BJP was in support of the SNDP leader on this issue. Krishnadas also said that the BJP was supporting the stand taken by the NSS on several issues concerning the Hindu religious beliefs.

The BJP was for developing a third front in the State, he said, adding that the party was powerful enough to have grassroots alliance with like-minded parties in several parts of the State.

Earlier, the political resolution moved in the meeting touched upon the necessity of the party to boost its influence on the coastal areas and tribal belts. The party was also for the formation of new political alliance to break the present political situation in the State and to form a credible third alternative for the benefit of the society at large.
