PALAKKAD : Five CPI(M) goons were hospitalised after a Heavy retaliation by Hindu activists in Palakkad in response to the attack of one of the Swayamsevak Muraleedharan in Palakkad today. Five CPI(M) goons are serious on the attack. There are Intelligence reports with the State police that the situation could go out of hands if the Government does not take firm action giving full power to the police. There are also reports that the CPI(M) leadership had a major role in turning the situation from bad to worse following the use of police against the political opponents to please the party cadre. Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan is bearing the brunt of the attacks as the RSS leadership has charged the Minister for having ordered the police to foist cases under Goonda Act against its workers. The police also fear that if the situation is not defused immediately there could be major fallouts and that this could result in a bloodbath turning into a repeat of the violence of Kannur district.
