MALAPPURAM: The ardent devotee of Guruvayoorappan and poet who wrote the renowned devotional composition ‘Jnanappana’ (Song of Wisdom) is now said to have not lived! The CPI(M) led Guruvayoor Devaswom Board has filed an affidavit at the Perinthalmanna Munsif Court claiming that there is no evidence to prove the existence of Poonthanam.

The affidavit was filed by the hardcore CPI(M) activist and Chairman of the Board, Thottathil Ravindran and the administrator, V. Ratheesh. The affidavit was filed since public interest litigation was filed against the Board by P.V. Sasidharan of Perinthalmanna.
