Government control of Temples-A Challenge to Secular Constitution

via HK published on March 2, 2008

Thiruvananthapuram: Government administration of Hindu
Temples in Kerala is a Challenge to the very Secularist nature of Indian
constitution, Told Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sena President C.K.Neelakandan
in a Press meet here.

Government should stay back from vexing their interference in
Temple
administration. Devaswom Bill should be changed only after discussing it with
Hindu Spiritual leaders and Hindu organisations and not by unanimous decision
of Government.

Present Government is trying to promote TempleTourism
eying more revenue to Government Treasury, Instead of promoting Tourism based
on Temples importance should be given to Spiritual
empowerment of Temples
