Kerala lost a strongest Hindutva pillar

With the sad demise of J.Sisupalji, we lost one of the strongest  Hindutva pillar in Kerala who strived for the cause of Hindus for the last 5 decades.

He has served as the State President of the Hindu Aikya Vedi,General secretary of the Hindu Munnani, General convenor of the Kshetra Vimochana Munnani, Vice-president of the Vanchi Poor Fund and Treasurer of the Vivekananda Institute.  Sisupalji entered public life through his activities in the Chinmaya Mission as a result of his close association with Swami Chinmayananda.He became involved with the RSS since his transfer to Kannur as a Govt Servant.He soon became the secretary of Chinmaya Mission and rose to the position of Karyavah in the Sangh.He met Sree Guruji M S Golwalkar, the then Sarsangachalak and also represented in the formation meeting of Vishwa hindu Parishad at Prayag in 1966.

He played an important role in bringing up Sangh activities in Thiruvananthapuram through public activities,protest movements and publications without being confined to the positions of  District Karyavah and Vibhag karyavah.Late Pranth Karyavah K Bhaskar Rao was his political guide.

He was in the forefront of the Nilackal Agitation led by Jagadguru Swami Sathyananda Sarswathiji along with Sri Kummanam Rajasekharji.He was suspended from Govt. Service for participating in the agitation and for daring to call the Chief Minister K Karunakaran to act against the injustice done to the Hindus.He proudly proclaimed that he was not the Govt’s servant but the Nation’s servant.

He was also in the forefront of the Agitation against Sivagiri Bill in 1998 and won support of the people and the Sangh to the Satyagraha of  Swami Prakashananda  and the agitation for the removal of Papal Podium constructed for the visit of the Pope John  Paul II at the spot where the Arat of Padmanabhaswami temple is performed at Trivandrum beach,both led by Hindu Aikya Vedi  under the chairmanship of  Jagadguru Swami Sathyananda Saraswathi.

He was also instrumental in the publication of Janmabhumi newspaper.

He was active till his very last and had written an article –‘The Sangh like the Holy Ganges’ on his involvement with the Sangh in the Special Edition-‘Bhagava’ brought out at the Mahasanghik held at Kollam.He is survived by his son Sree Durgadas and daughter Dr Krishnapriya.
