THRISSUR: The dispute over the takeover of the Vazhipadu counters in temples under the Cochin Devaswom Board between Kshethra Samities and Cochin Devaswom Board was settled in discussions by CDB President TG Ravindranathan with representatives of Co-ordination Committee of Samities and Hindu Aikya Vedi leaders.

Cochin Devaswom Board agreed 17 out of 18 demands put forward by the Kshetra Samities to ensure devotee participation in day to day affairs of the Temple. Move to take over of Temples completely with a motive to place communist sympathisers as guardians of Temples were thwarted by the staunch protest by Hindu Organisations.

The dubious move by Devaswom Board to collect the offerings bought by Devotees directly from Offering Counter was earlier thwarted by court as devotees filed case against it.

Temples
are the backbone of Hindu Society and it is our responsibility to keep vigil against the malpractices being forced upon us by the nominees of Atheist Communist party.
