Kerala Governor oppose Bill on PSC appointments in Temple
Thiruvananthapuram: In between a pile of Negative happenings against Hindus in Kerala under Communist regime, Kerala Governor R.L Bhatia’s decision not to sign the Bill passed by Kerala assembly recommending PSC appointments under devaswom board comes as a surprise
Â
Governor requested clarification from Law Ministry on various issues like
Â
How secular PSC can interfere in appointments of a
Hindu
Temple
?
Â
How can PSC call applicants only from certain area? (Eg:For TDB staff is selected from Travancore ) Â Â Â
Â
The qualification of the staff I sdecided by PSC and not by Devaswom!
Â
If there is any disagreement the final decision is taken by the Government- How can a secular Government take a right decision in matters related to faith of Hindus?
Â
As per PSC, Applications should be invited from all irrespective of Religion- What will PSC do if they get applications from Non Hindus?
Â
The new ordinance gives a Hindu member of the PSC the right to make appointments. But the ordinance does not say that only Hindus must be appointed.
Â
Hindu Organisations were opposing this tooth and nail and the Governor’s decision is indeed a positive gesture. But Experts close to Government say , Governor really cannot withhold the bill for long and finally he will have to succumb to pressure from Government
Â
It is worth remembering that when Prathiba Patil was Rajasthan Governor, the Anti Conversion Bill passed in Rajasthan assembly was not approved. Let us hope that Governor will not succumb to Communist pressure tactics and upholds the right of Hindus to administer and manage their place of worship.
