via HK Correspondent published on June 12, 2008

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : ABVP activists have lead a march to the Kerala Secretariat demanding immediate withdrawal of communistised text books .The new text books brought out by the education department for this academic year are filled with communist ideas and moral stories aimed at young students to propagate communist ideals in disguise, said P.Sudheer, State Secretary of ABVP, inaugurating the march.

The ideals, life and work of social reformers like Sree Narayanaguru, Chattambi Swamikal and Kelappan are not given due importance. Instead the communist thinkers and their ideas have been given disproportionate importance. This will only result in creating a generation of youth devoid of any national view, Sudheer accused. He demanded the government to withdraw all such text books immediately. Any attempt to communistise the education sector will be met with stiff resistance ,he warned.

ABVP National executive committee member M.Aneesh and State Committee member KK Manoj addressed the march. Thiruvananthapuram District Convener Renjith Chandran and city president PM Joshi lead the march.
