PALAKKAD: Hundreds of students owing allegiance to the district unit of the ABVP marched to the Collectorate on Thursday as part of the state-wide stir to protest against what it called the preaching of Communism through the textbooks of schools and the sanctioning of Aligarh University Centre by the LDF Government.

The march which began from the Victoria College junction was blocked before the Collectorate by the police. At the protest meet which followed, ABVP state committee member M Aneesh Kumar delivered the main speech. ABVP district convener S Hariprasad presided over the meet.

District joint convener Anoop welcomed the gathering and Arjun proposed a vote of thanks.

Aneesh Kumar stated that the LDF Government was not trying to cultivate a national feeling among students through the textbooks and instead it was encouraging students to be anti-religion and trying to Marxise them.
