Thwart the Marxist attempt to capture Kottiyoor Mahadeva Temples

Kannur: Now the Marxist Government raises it’s sword against Kottiyoor Akkarae and Ikkarae Iva Temples – Popularly klnown as Kasi of south 

 

The move to capture left over Temple properties is initiated this time by Forest Ministry. Earlier in 1971 27,000 Acre Temple land was captured under Forest laws.

 

After legal fights in 1980, 107 Acre of land surrounding the Temple was given back to Temple authorities. The Kerala Government then challenged the court order in Supreme Court, but Supreme Court dismissed the Government appeal.

 

Now the Forest Ministry send notice to Temple again to capture the left over land citing the land as Ecologically Fragile. This is part of the Marxist Government to destroy temples revered by Hindus.

 

The remaining 107 acres of land which is now under Temple is well preserved with special plants and trees needed for Templepoojas.

Diety in Akkare Kottiyoor temple is the ‘swayambhoo lingam’ (self-created idol of Lord Shiva). The idol is kept on the ground (‘Manithara’) formed by a small heap of stones. Lakhs of devotees visit this temple during the Vaisakha festival celebrated in the month of May-June every year that lasts for 27 days.

 

Akkare Kottiyoor temple remains open only on these festival days. The ‘abhishekam’ (offering) here is with milk, ghee (clarified butter) and karikku vellam (tender coconut water). Pilgrims to the temple, before trekking to the holy hills, take a bath in the River Bavali, which is considered to be divine.

 

 Daily worship is held at Ikkare Kottiyoor temple. An interesting feature is that this temple remains closed during the 27 day long festival in Akkare Kottiyoor temple. 

 

As per History, Daksha conducted his famous Yaga from the place where now Temple is situated in the banks of BavaleeRiver. Two Temples Akkare Kottiyoor and Ikkare Kottiyoor are located in the dense forests on the opposite shores of River Bavali in Kottiyoor 

 

By crooked laws Temples of Hindus are captured one by one by the Governments, at the same time Mosques and Churches in the state enjoy full autonomy and no one yet dared to claim even a cent of their land.

 

At present Temple authorities have to beg infront of arrogant Devaswom members to get sanctioned the amount needed for daily poojas. Majority of Devaswom owned temples are in a dilapidated condition without proper yearly maintenance.

 

Hindus across the state should extend their support to HAV movement to liberate temples from the evil clutches of Government .Actions should be taken immediately to counter this evil move to capture KottiyoorTemple
