Kochi: The State BJP unit and the CPI(M) in Kerala unleashed scathing criticism against organisations in the State that promoted terrorism. While the BJP demanded extensive probes and action against NDF and Adul Nasser Madani’s PDP, the CPI(M) warned the NDF that it could not escape with its ‘masks’ and eloquence.

State BJP general secretary AN Radhakrishnan said in Kochi that extensive probes should be held into the roles of NDF and PDP in the current developments in Kerala with respect to terror operations. He pointed out that Faizal of Kannur, who had been recruiting young men for inter-State terror forces, and Abdul Raheem of Malappuram, the militant who was killed along with three others in Kashmir, were accused in the case relating to the burning of the Tamil Nadu State bus at Kalamassery near Kochi on September 9, 2005.

Pointing out that the act of bus-burning was meant to put pressure on the Governments to release PDP chairman Abdul Nasser Madani from he Coimbatore prison, Radhakrishnan said that Madani’s wife Sufia had connections with that incident. In these circumstances, the roles of PDP and NDF in the current developments in the State should be probed intensely, he said.

Radhakrishnan said the patriotic emotions of Safiya, mother of Muhammad Fayaz, the militant killed in Kashmir, who said she did not want to look at the body of the anti-national despite the fact he was her son, should be honoured.
