Anti-terror Malayalam movie to be out in Jan

A Rs 2-crore Malayalam feature film intended to create awareness against the threat of terrorism will be released in the theatres of Kerala in January. Mohanlal, who had in the last three years done two hit movies on the theme of patriotism, will play the lead role as Dr Balagopalan in the film, in which renowned frontline actors Prakash Raj and Priya Mani will also be featured.

The pooja of the film, titled Bhagavan, was held in Kochi with Mohanlal lighting a lamp before the portrait of Mohan Chand Sharma, the commando who had fallen to terror bullets in Delhi. A goodwill assistance of Rs 1,00,000 from the side of the producers to the family of Sharma was handed over to Vincent M Paul, Inspector General of Police, Central Zone, at the function. Vijeesh Mani is the producer of the film.

The entire shooting of the film would be completed in 12 hours on November 19. The strange incidents taking place at a hospital is the plot of the movie, being directed by Prasanth Mambully. The shooting of the 150-minute movie would be completed with the simultaneous operation of ten cameras.

Six music directors would take part in the project for which the lyrics of three songs would be written by Anil Panachooran and Murukan Kattakkada. Mohanlal said it was necessary that cinema should get more and more involved in issues with social concern. He said the birth of terrorism in one’s own mind.

The mega-star was preparing for acting in the movie just when he was trying to get enrolled in the Territorial Army, Major Ravi, scripter and director of Keerthichakra and Kurukshetra, two Mohanlal movies with emphasis on patriotism, was helping the star in this.
