Abhaya Case: `Probe Mani’s role’
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The CBI should probe former Revenue Minister K.M. Mani’s involvement in
the attempts to scuttle the investigation into Sister Abhaya murder
case, activist Jomon Puthenpurackal said on Wednesday.
He told a
news conference here that it was under Mani’s pressure that the then
Kottayam RDO S.G.K. Kishore had ordered the burning of vital evidence
related to the investigation on June 16, 1993. Jomon said he had mentioned this in his statement to the CBI team.
 According
to Jomon, Mani has not uttered a word on behalf of a proper
investigation into Sister Abhaya’s death during the past 16 years
despite Abhaya’s home being in Areekkara in the Pala Assembly
Constituency.
