State
BJP president PK Krishnadas on Friday asked Chief Minister VS
Achuthanandan to either fulfill the promises he had given to people on
the issue of the SNC Lavalin corruption case, in which CPI(M) State
secretary Pinarayi Vijayan was ninth accused. Otherwise, he should step
down as Chief Minister, he said.

Talking to newspersons here,
Krishnadas alleged that Achuthanandan had given an assurance that he
would discharge his Constitutional duties on the SNC Lavalin issue. If
he was acting in accordance with the Constitution, he had to give
permission to prosecute all the accused in the SNC Lavalin corruption
case, he said.

In his second assurance, Achuthanandan had said
he would continue his struggle against corruption and according to the
third assurance, he would deal with the SNC Lavalin case legally,
Krishnadas pointed out.

He alleged that the CPI(M) was in
connivance with the corrupt and mafia and was hence unable to take
action against the accused. The Chief Minister would not get justice
from the Politburo of his party since it was favoring Pinari Vijayan,
he said.

The political climate in the State was conducive for
the formation of a third alternative, he claimed. The BJP was ready to
cooperate with those parties and groups which were inclined for the
formation of ‘Third Front, he said. The party would announce the names
of candidates from the State for all Lok Sabha constituencies by March
15, he added.
