Binish Kodiyeri following the path of Chandan Babu and Sanjay Gandhi
CPM protects mafia in Kerala
www.organiser.org
We have heard of Chandan Babu and Sanjay Gandhi who were alternate
powers behind Jyoti Basu and Indira Gandhi’s throne respectively. Now
two alternate power sources are emerging in Kerala—Binish Kodiyeri, son
of Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and Satish Nambiar, son of
Health Minister PK Sreemathi.
The name of Binish is getting linked with several crimes in
the state. He came to limelight, when the police informed the court
that he is an absconder and hence untraceable! The court had earlier
issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him in several
campus-related cases (Binish is a state leader of SFI).
Later Binish’s and Satish’s names got linked to the Kililoor
sex scandal. In fact, Kodiyeri and Sreemathi visited the victim ‘Shari’
in the hospital and threatened her with dire consequences if she
disclosed their sons’ names. Chief Minister VS had made this a big
issue referring to these Pinarayi loyalists sarcastically as ‘VIPs’.
Again their names got linked with Shabarinath, who had
swindled crores of rupees from thousands of investors. Dr. Ramani, a
co-accused, made startling revelations that Binish and Satish have a
stake in the multi-crore fraud.
Also Binish’s name allegedly got involved in several forcible
release of criminals from police custody, directions to police etc. In
the fake godman Santosh Madhavan episode also, Binish was involved.
Now his name has cropped up in a case of attack by an Egyptian on CISF commandos at Thiruvananthapuram international airport.
On February 9, a Keralaite businessman Raghu and an Egypt-born
British national Ahmed Mohammed Al-Jalak, in a highly drunken condition
attacked the CISF commandos. When the police came to arrest them both
the persons said that they have business connections with Binish
Kodiyeri. While Raghu ran away, Al-Jalak was taken to a nearby police
station and within seconds the station received police call from Home
Minister’s residence and Al-Jalak was let out on bail. He then went to
the state owned five star Mascot Hotel.
Owing to the hue and cry created by the media, Al-Jalak was
arrested again and produced in the court. The bail amount of several
lakhs was paid and he was released. Although Al-Jalak says he came to
Kerala for business, what is the nature of his business and who paid
lakhs of rupees remains a mystery.
Media reports suggest that Al-Jalak may be linked to the
international mafia dealing in arms, drugs and gold. In that case, is
Binish also a link in the chain? The CPM has lots to answer! (CS)
