Raman Pillai’s ‘Valmiki’ calls Media Men as Street Dogs!
Madani losing his cool
PNS | Kochi
PDP
chairman Abdul Nasser Madani has begun showing signs of impatience in
the context of the flood of reports appearing in the media about
allegations of terror links against him and his wife Sufiya.
At
a reception accorded to his all-Kerala march Satyameva Jayate here on
Tuesday, Madani nearly lost his patience and spoke furiously against a
section of the media for ‘inventing’ evidences against him, his wife
and the party. He said it was certain mediamen who were worse than the
street beggars who were writing reports full of allegations against him
and his wife.
“Some mediamen even wrote that my wife took part
in the (SIMI) camp at Vagamon (in December 2007, which was said to be
the springboard for the Indian Mujahiddeen bombings in various Indian
cities). These newsmen should not think they could write anything when
no other ways are left (to attack the PDP). Mediamen should not dabble
in such works which are devoid of pride,†he said.
The same
Madani had showered praises on the media when he was released from the
Coimbatore prison on August 1, 2007. He had thanked the media for
supporting him on humanitarian grounds when he was suffering in the
prison.
Poonthura Siraj, working chairman of the PDP, said that
a Third Front government led by the Left and secular parties would come
to power at the Centre after elections. Speaking to mediapersons in
Kochi, Siraj said the trend had been very encouraging for the Left
Front as the people were disappointed with the UPA Government at the
Centre.
The Left Front would register a record majority in the
Parliament elections, he said. To a query on the alleged links of
Madani with extremist groups, Siraj said, “We are ready to face any
inquiry in this regard.â€
