BJP asks Cong, CPM to sever ties with NDF, PDP

PATHANAMTHITTA: BJP state president P K Krishnadas said on Sunday that the Congress and the CPM should openly declare severing their ties with the NDF and the PDP respectively in the wake of the exposure of both the organisations’ links with Pakistan-based extremist outfits.


Talking to newsmen in Tiruvalla on the conclusion of the three-day BJP state executive and state committee meetings, Krishnadas said that both the Congress and  the CPM owed moral responsibility to the people of the state, following the latest revelation of the arrested extremist.

The BJP would submit memorandums to the Chief Minister and the Opposition Leader seeking to sever their parties’ ties with both the PDP and NDF, he said.

Krishnadas said that both the CPM and the Congress should be ready to seek a probe by a Central agency into the links of PDP and NDF with other extremist groups since the inquiry by state intelligence agency would not acceptable to the people.

Secretariat march:  The BJP would organise a Secretariat march on August 25 seeking the Congress and the CPM to sever their links with the NDF and the PDP.

Professional education sector in a chaos: The BJP leader said the professional education sector is in a chaos owing to flawed policies and inept handling.

Even the talented students belonging to the poor families are denied the opportunity to study in the professional education sector, the BJP leader said.

Dharna on Aug 4: The party would stage a dharna at Assembly constituency-level on August 4 seeking corrective measures in the higher and professional education sectors.

Agriculture protection day: Krishnadas said that the Karshaka Morcha would observe ‘agriculture protection day’ on August 16.

   The morcha would organise a dharna in front of Secretariat on August 27 demanding measures to protect the farmers.

Mahila Morcha dharna:  The Mahila Morch would organise a dharna in front of the Secretariat on August 18 in protest against the denial of basic public health facilities at government hospitals.

Membership campaign:  The BJP would launch a major membership campaign in the state from August 9 to 25.

The Yuva Morcha would launch a state-wide campaign against extremist elements from August 9 to 15. The Yuva Morcha would organise a rally in Kannur on August 15 to mark the conclusion of the campaign, he said.

Party state general secretary M S Kumar, secretary A G Unnikrishnan and district president T R Ajitkumar were  present at the conference.
