Three outfits under NIA scanner
KOCHI: The `NIA episode’ seems to have awaken the State Intelligence Wing and made it take the necessary steps to check the growing anti-national activities in the state by coordinating with its counterparts in the neighbouring states.
Senior officials of the Intelligence Wing said they had received vital inputs from the Bangalore Police, which was presently interrogating LeT operatives Thadiyantavide Nazeer and Shafaz.
“The inputs are crucial, on the basis of which we have put three organisations under scanner. The activities of the organisations are being closely watched,†a senior official said.
He, however, refused to divulge the details and the names of the organisations.
“We are collecting the details of those individuals against whom the police have registered cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Those who have gone underground will be traced.
The respective Special Branch wings have been directed to keep track on the movements of certain people,†the official said.
Intelligence Wing sources said that directives had also been issued to keep track on people who were suspected to be having close links with those arrested in the state on charges of terrorist activities in the state.
