Ban Conversion By Law – NSS

Kottayam: Conversion by forceful means or by money should be banned – Demanded NSS. Refering to the recent High Court verdict which clearly stated that educational institutions should not be used as a forum for conversion, NSS asked Government to start taking steps towards making a law against conversion. A resolution was passed in a All Kerala Nair  representative Meet held in Perunna.

NSS representative meet observed that some people do get married cutting across religion and later get converted to one religion or other. There are also campaigns going on, where money, food etc are offered to the poor and underprivileged sections in the soceity. But recently a dangerous trend is being observed where youth from a certain religion are targetting girls  from other religions in the name of love but with the final motive of converting them to other religions.  There are huge foreign funds and a international network operating behind this. In most of the cases the victims are Hindus.  The sole purpose of these forces is to destabilise Hinduism and increase the strength of their religion. This will lead to the decline of the secularism as promised by constition and will also plant the seeds of extremism in our country.

NSS president Adv. Neelakanta pillai presided over the meeting  and general secretary Narayana Paniker welcomed the gathering.
