Kollam: The RSS Pranthasanghik Organization Committee office has been inaugurated by CPM leader and Mayor, N.Padmalochanan. The Mayor, who lighted the traditional lamp in front of the photos of RSS founder Dr.K.B.Hedgewar and long-time Sarsanghachalak, Guruji Golwalkar, promised all help of the municipal corporation.

In his inaugural address the Mayor said, “It is because we have the Asramam grounds here in Kollam, the Mahasanghik is going to be held here in Kollam. Suggestions of many who came requesting the grounds had to be rejected to retain the grounds at this size. Therefore, though we had to face the accusations of many people, we feel proud that the meet is being held here. I wish all the best for the event and thankfully acknowledge the goodwill gesture of inviting me for the inaugural function.”

The office has been inaugurated for the conduct of the RSS Pranthasanghik to be held on 24th of this month. The office will function at the specially erected structure at the west side of the grounds.

The inaugural function was presided over by Prof. V.Ramachandran Nair, who is the Chairman of the reception committee. He said the meet, which was initially proposed to be held at Kochi, was subsequently shifted to Kollam due to unavailability of a suitable venue. He also pointed out that only Asramam grounds can accommodate 1.5 lakh swayamsewaks who are expected to attend the sanghik.

RSS Pranthapracharak A. Gopalakrishnan and Sanghachalak P.Velappan also spoke on the occasion. Reception committee secretary Rajan Karoor delivered the welcome address while the thanksgiving speech was delivered by Vijayan.
