BJYM to step up stir to fill vacancies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morch a (BJYM) w i l l strengthen its agitation against the government’s failure to fill the vacancies in various departments in the state.

Yuva Morcha state president V V Rajesh told ‘Express’ that as the youth organisations of both the ruling and Opposition fronts were showing little concern in the matter, it was their duty to take up the cause of lakhs of unemployed youths waiting for appointments through the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC).

He said that they had started collecting the details of vacancies in each government office and the process would be completed in a few days. Agitational programmes would be decided in the state committee meeting of the BJYM which would be held next week, he said. He said that there were hundreds of offices which were yet to report the vacancies to the PSC.

Rajesh said that the police force, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Nagaraju, had resorted to brutal torture of the Yuva Morcha workers, who participated in the Assembly march the other day. Rajesh himself had sustained injury on the ribs and neck in the police action and was undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital.

He pointed out that the police did not invoke the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act to object their bail plea in the court as the activists had not resorted to any violence against policemen or government property. Following this, the court granted bail to all the activists. He said that all the BJYM workers would be involved in either service or development activities as exhorted by BJP national president Nitin Gadkari. He said that many youths from the SC, ST and minority communities would be joining the Yuva Morcha in the coming days.
