Sounding the bugle of change – Janam TV Launch

Kochi: Ushering in an era of change in Malayalam television, with a whole lot of change is Janam TV. Sounding the bugle of change, the channel will begin its telecast on 19 April 2015, from 5.30 pm. The inaugural function will be held at Bristow Grounds in Wellington Islands. The programme will be webcast live via janamtv.com .

In what promises to be a spectacular event, dignitaries from all walks of life will grace the inaugural ceremony. This will include luminaries from social, cultural, spiritual, and political arenas. The inauguration will be initiated by Art of Living Acharya Sri Sri Ravishankar. Other luminaries are Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh Sahakaryavah Bhayyaji Joshi, Union Ministers Ravishankar Prasad, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathode, National General Secretary of BJP Ram Madhav, Swami PoornaAmritananda Puri, Sami Chidananda Puri, former Union Minister O Rajagopal, BJP state president V Muraleedharan, state general secretary of Hindu Aikya Vedi Kummanam Rajashekharan.

Other eminent persons will include Molywood super stars Mohanlal and Mammootty, director Priyadarshan, Major Ravi, recipient of the year’s national award for best playback singer Uthara Unnikrishnan. A posthumous honour will also be conferred on Major Mukund Varadarajan, who laid his life at the nation’s altar.

The event will showcase an array of cultural fetes in both dance and music, with performances by Asha Sarath, Aparna Nair, Manikuttan, Krishna Prabha, Rachana Narayanankutty, Vijay Yesudas, Swetha Menon, Renjini Jose, Sachin Warrier. Audience will also be presented an Egyptian dance, orchestra and instrumental music, skit etc.

Around 50,000 people are expected to be part of the event.
