Kottarakara: Christian organisations have plotted new ways of conversion of the financially backward Hindus by enticing them with the offer of insurance coverage. These attempts are being made by a paper organisation called Malankara social service society.

Few days ago, an attempt was done at the Perumkulam PV high school, fortunately a parent came to know and informed the police. This Christian organisation is offering LIC policies to the poor Hindu children along with other financial assistance and aiming to convert them to Christianity.

The LIC in order to help the financially backward class had implemented several group insurance policies where they had classified 2000 persons into 41 groups and for those who take up a policy of Rs.100/- when any member of the group who dies a natural death will fetch a compensation of Rs.30000/- If it is an accidental death, the amount would be Rs.75000/-. Another policy is that studious children who excel in academics would be give scholarship of Rs.300/- every 3 months.

It was this program which the Malankara society took over with the help of the previous UDF govt. As a preliminary instalment they had handed over a cheque of 30 lakhs to Oomen Chandy.

But later on the society and the All Kerala youth sangham gave excuses saying that the LIC is incurring heavy losses and the program needs to be re-examined. So they stopped the Scholarship projects and started insurance for kids and collected Rs.110/- from each child and vanished. The parents lodged complaint at the Kottarakara police station. But it is alleged that the police has not responded effectively into this case due to pressure from the higher authorities.

Hindu aikya vedi has strongly condemned the large-scale fraud against poor Hindus and said that it will launch wide-spread protest against the fraudulent Christian organisation. The police should investigate into this huge fraud and tricksters should be immediately arrested said the Hindu aikya vedi district secretary shri. Kareepra Vijaya kumar, taluk president M.Gopalakrishnanunnithan and  secretary  K.V.Santosh Babu in the press meet.
