Kochi: Police on Monday informed the Kerala High Court that the Special Investigating Team inquiring into various activities of the Divine Retreat Centre of the Christian church at Muringoor in Thrissur district had prima facie found certain things which could not be disclosed at this stage as it “will affect further investigation”.

The Divine Centre authorities were trying to scuttle truthful investigation by putting unnecessary conditions during the course of the investigation, IG Winson Paul told the court.

The special investigating team was formed pursuant to the High Court order dated March 10 last. The investigators were asked to probe into various allegations, including foreign exchange violation and unnatural death at the Divine Centre. Police said they had not conducted any raid on the premises and the inspection team also consisted of doctors. There was absolutely no harassment. The entire procedure was videographed to ensure transparency, Paul said.
