Kozhikode: In yet another startling revelation, eminent historian Dr MGS Narayanan has revealed how the Congress and Communist had willfully and deliberately chosen to conceal those numerous vital findings during the Ayodhya excavations, which clearly indicated the existence of a temple. He also opined that certain facts should never be concealed from the general public.

Speaking at the book release of archaeologist KK Mohammed’s ‘Njan Bharatiyan’, he said that the Congress government machinery was too keen to cover up the findings of the excavation.
“Numerous remnants belonging to a temple were discovered. The Communists were also party to the same. Concealing historical facts, evidences and findings from public will always lead to riots and civil unrest. But those who have done this have done so with the intent that general public always remains at war with each other. But those in power should have realized that the general public is smarter than them, having an innate quality of endurance and should have taken efforts and initiative in revealing truth before them. This shows how bereft of sense our archaeological policy is,” said MGS Narayanan.

Stressing how it would never affect people when they come to know about the existence of Vishnu temple prior to the Babri structure, Narayanan said that danger lies in the move of concealment. “People have the power to correct and rectify any rule that is haywire.”
Speaking on the occasion, author of the book Mohammed said that there should be acknowledgement of temples having been destroyed. “My book serves the purpose of bringing truth out before the people. Many grave mistakes have been committed in history. We must ensure that these are never repeated. But justifying these mistakes are even more dangerous. Ayodha issue has to be. Only then can Bharat move forward. The present government should, along with society, sit together and ponder over an amicable solution. My book is only a small step in this direction. The purpose is not to be in favour of a section or be against anyone,” he said.
