Non-Hindus to sign faith form to enter Tirumala temple in Andhra Pradesh
31/07/2012 00:27:48  http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/non-hindus-to-sign-faith-form-to-enter-tirumala-temple-in-andhra-pradesh/1/210621.html

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages the affairs of the country's richest temple of Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh, has now banned the entry of all non-Hindus into the temple, if they do not declare their faith in Lord Venkateshwara, the presiding deity.

The decision was taken by the TTD at a meeting on Thursday, apparently in the wake of recent controversy over the entry of YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, a devout Christian, into the Tirumala temple without bothering to sign the register declaring his faith in the Lord despite repeated appeals by the temple authorities. Jagan's indifferent attitude in respecting the tradition has raised a lot of heat and dust in political and religious circles and the TTD authorities had to face the wrath of Hindu organisations, besides political parties for allowing a Christian into the temple, in spite of he deliberately flouting the traditions.

According to TTD joint executive officer K S Srinivasa Raju, non-Hindus must necessarily sign the declaration form at the Vaikuntam queue complex before having the darshan of the Lord. Though the practice had been in vogue for several decades, it was only followed as a tradition and not a rule by only those who volunteered to give the declaration.

Now, the TTD authorities have made it compulsory as per the government order (GO MS No. 311 of AP Revenue Endowments-1) under Rule no. 16. "It is now a mandatory rule for all those belonging to various faiths other than Hinduism to sign a declaration form before entering the hill temple stating that they have faith in the presiding deity," Raju said.

For the convenience of devotees, the declaration forms would be available at all sub-enquiry offices, besides the Peshkar and JEO's office.

The TTD also took a serious note of the attempts by certain people representing evangelist organisations to propagate Christianity on the Tirumala hills. Last week, the TTD vigilance authorities caught red-handed three TTD employees who were in possession of literature, CDs and pictures pertaining to Christianity. The employees were found to be clandestinely propagating Christianity among the pilgrims coming from different parts of the country. The TTD authorities transferred them to the head office in the Tirupati down the sacred hills.

In the last one week, the TTD authorities made extensive study of the background of the people working on the Tirumala hills in various capacities. It is learnt that at least 100 persons, including a few employees and contract workers of the TTD, were from other religions. A few months ago, the TTD authorities caught three hotel workers staying in staff quarters right behind the temple having pictures and literature belonging to other religions. They were arrested and sacked from the jobs.

"We will take serious action against those indulging in preaching of other religions on Tirumala hills. Right now, the vigilance authorities are making thorough searches to weed out the people of other faiths on the hills," TTD executive officer L V Subrahmanyam said.

Apartheid: The Chindu reports that LAST WEEK 3 more Cryptochristians were caught missionising at Tirumala, where enemy ideologies are banned but Hinduism isn't! Oh the APARTHEID.
thehindu.com/news/states/andhra-pradesh/article3679380.ece

"Proselytisation resurfaces at Tirumala
TIRUPATI, July 25, 2012

...in a raid conducted by the TTD’s Vigilance and Security personnel on three houses in the TTD staff quarters at Tirumala late on Monday night following a tip-off, bundles of religious publications, wall-posters and such other propaganda material belonging to Christian missionaries were reportedly recovered.

The Vigilance sleuths raided the houses of Eswaraiah, Krishnamma and Yasodamma — all working as ‘sweepers’ in the TTD’s Health Department — acting on a tip-off alleging that they were engaged in ‘missionary activities’ and religious propagation in their quarters at Tirumala.

The trio was immediately taken into custody for interrogation in view of a BLANKET BAN imposed by the government on any kind of religious activities other than Hindu religion at Tirumala and on propagation of other religion in and around the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara and also in the areas under its jurisdiction both on and off the Tirumala hills. ...The BJP leaders slammed the TTD for its laxity on such a sensitive issue, especially at Tirumala, the abode of Lord and urged its top-brass to go all out to end the ‘menace’ once and for all."

Jayarajan's declared Hindu temples should belong to "all religions" (i.e. be "secular" like India). By the same logic that "Sacred Hindu sites should not be Hindu-only":
Christianism should be allowed to proselytise in Tirumala: it would be "apartheid" if only Hindu religion could be practised in Hindu temple sites, while (crypto)christianism isn't allowed to do its trademark missionising among Hindu devotees & kick Shivalingas like LaxMan Johnson did, or the Taliban not allowed to break the moorties. "All religions" will want to practise their religion differently on Hindu sites after all. "Shariah insists on breaking idols. It would be APARTHEID to not allow shariah to be implemented in Hindu temples."

Jayarajan's invalid arguments: threatening "apartheid" in order to pretend Hindu temples should belong to "everyone" (incl. Taliban, else it's "apartheid")
1. Harijan deserve temple entry because they are Hindus. And like other Hindu communities, they observe Temples' purity regulations, which is why there's no ritual purity issues where any Hindus are concerned.

Christians and muslims are not considered ritually pure.

Moreover, like the cryptochristian women of a certain age instructed to randomly enter Ayyappa's Shabari Malai temple in order to break Hindu religious observances governing the Temple, and like the cryptochristian men instructed to randomly sing songs from the wrong location at Chidambaram Temple to break sacred Hindu rituals governing that Temple, christians=muslims will actively seek to desanctify sacred Hindu spaces.
Giving them free entry already causes people like laxman johnson to wander in and kick Shivalingas. This is what christians=muslims *do*.

Whereas Harijan, being loyal Hindus devoted to their ancestral Gods, are as interested as all other Hindus in preserving the sanctity and power of their Gods and Temples.
(And as I recall it wasn't communists who enabled Harijan into Chidambaram Temple, for e.g., but the very Hindu community belonging to the Temple. Long before the secular Indian govt ever got the idea.)

2. "Temples should be opened for all religions. It is apparthid to ban people from entering temples."
Nonsense argument.
Hindu temples are private spaces belonging to *Hindu* religion alone. Not to "all religions". It's not a public building, but private sacred religious space. So people who aren't of the Hindu religion *naturally* have no business entering Hindu temples.
It has nothing to do with "apartheid", which is a typical christian excuse (like the opportunistic christian clamour for Padmanabha's sacred treasure to be "shared", and with "all Indians" including christians also. Yeah Right).
Because if non-Hindu Indians properly revert to Hindu religion, and have had shuddhi performed, they are most welcome to enter Hindu temples.

Temple to be opened for all
No need of any such restrictions. Temples should be opened for all religions. It is apparthid to ban people from entering temples. This is a outdated law which should be scrapped immediately. In history dalits are not allowed to enter the temple premises and we heard all sort of "purity" issues at that time. But nothing happened after temple entry of dalits. Idol is still pure. Dalits got the right to live and temple entry with the continous fight of Communists and other progressive movement. Man we are in the 21st century.

@nara: Nonsense. Western people have their own ancestral religions.
Nonsense:

1. Western converts already have access to many Hindu temples located in western countries. And no one's stopping ISKCON members--whose own teachings insist they're not Hindu--from going to ISKCON centres either.

2. Still: western people have their own ancestral religions. The known ones are quite similar to Hindu & other native Asian religions, so why hound Hinduism?
The divine nature that's common to all the Gods has manifested all over the world among all populations. Each population has an ancient, specific and direct kinship with the particular Gods who manifest to their kind. Western people should therefore return to the religions of their own ancestral Gods. Like the sensible among the Greco-Romans follow their ancestral Hellenismos (ysee.gr/index-eng.php?type=english&f=faq#13 AND ysee.gr/index-eng.php?type=english&f=faq#17).

3. Nara's opinion on what's "better" is invalid.

Ignoring "better". An *Expert* in any Gods-based/-centred religion is defined by one who "sees" (incl. interacts with) their Gods.
Expert Hindus see the Hindu Gods. To this day, there are Expert Hindus from all Hindu backgrounds and all ancient Asian Hindu communities.
In contrast, there are no western converts whom the Hindu Gods have chosen to interact with. (Am obviously not counting those prone to self-delusions or new-age.)

Note: Ishwar Sharan has certainly seen a Goddess, but not a *Hindu* one, since the one he glimpsed in childhood reminded him of the Middle-Eastern Asherah instead.

Nara's argument for "betterness" is as nonsensical as if he were to argue that Hindus who may next convert to Hellenism--the Greco-Roman religion--could be "better Hellenes" than *actual* Greco-Roman Expert Hellenes. This is simply not possible. The Olympic Gods certainly exist--Expert Hellenes since ancient times have intimated their reality in unmistakable terms--but Hindus are very unlikely to see them.

[Also, racism invented categories of "white" "black" "colour".]

non-Hindus are still allowed
Chrissal,
The TTD doesn't ban people from other religions to visit the temple, it merely asks them to sign a form declaring that they have faith in the presiding deity.
Now, if a non-Hindu wants to visit a Hindu deity, then he surely must have some faith in the deity, so that non-Hindu would not have the slightest problem in signing such form.

Christian churches "all-embracing" and "egalitarian"? Yesterday's news (31/07/2012!): bible-ordained racism rears its head again to ban couple with African origins from marrying in US church
Mohendra said:"The enactment of such laws will only send more people to the churches where any human being can enter whether he belives in God or not."

Forget atheists, US churches are still banning *converts* from church wedding.
Whereas Hindus deny terrorist ideologies temple entry to prevent these defacing & defiling sacred Hindu Temple space & Moorties, CHRISTIANISM's bans are for BIBLICAL RACISM reasons:

US, YESTERDAY's news:
salon.com/2012/07/31/church_denies_black_couple_salpart/singleton/
>>White Mississippi church to black couple: You can’t tie knot here
By Zachary Conn
...
The couple had sent out invitations and printed programs announcing that the ceremony would be held at First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs. But the church’s pastor, Rev. Stan Weatherford, called them on Friday to say that wouldn’t be possible.
“He had people in the sanctuary that were pitching a fit about us being a black couple,” Te’Andrea told the Jackson-area NBC affiliate. The Wilsons were not members of the congregation but had regularly attended services there.
Congregants threatened the pastor that if he married the couple “they would vote him out the church,” Charles Wilson said.
...
Earlier this month, a Winfield, Ala., church courted controversy by advertising an “Annual Pastors Conference” with “all white Christians invited.” Rev. William C. Collier defended his event’s racial exclusivity to the Birmingham-area TV station. ... Rev. Collier’s Church of God’s Chosen is affiliated with the racist, anti-Semitic Christian Identity movement, which claims Jews are “the devil’s spawn,” and whites the true biblical chosen people.<<

Despite Weatherford's own sentimental unbiblical apologetics, others aren't relenting *because* the never-ending racism & anti-Semitism is all biblical of course: the bible says Africans (& all "coloured" people) are ordained for slavery for being "cursed" Hamites Canaanites. The bible also lies that Jews killed the non-existent jesus.

Mohendra & Chrissal (christian?) both Wrong: Hindu temples not a "universal" place for "all beings" to do "anything". HINDU Temples=Homes of HINDU Gods for HINDUS to do HINDUISM
1. Mohendra imagined: "The enactment of such laws will only send more people to the churches where any human being can enter whether he belives in God or not."

Christian non-argument. (An example of why it's not true for the christian case was already seen in the US church example. Plus European Gypsies have *documented* that churches and mosques didn't allow converted Gypsies in, though christian monasteries readily enough kept masses of Gypsies as *slaves* until but a recent century.)
Of course non-Hindus may not enter Hindu temples, which are the houses and the very bodies of the Hindu Gods, where the Gods manifest. All who enter Hindu temples necessarily have to be attached to the Hindu Gods: since the *whole and sole purpose* of Hindu temples are the Hindu Gods. So, just like non-friends and enemies have no business in my house and I'll keep them out, Hindu Temples specifically don't concern people who "don't believe" in the Hindu Gods and/or aren't attached to them, let alone those who are of ideologies which teach that these Gods are "false" or "satan" as christianism/islam does.
No one but Hindus attached to the Hindu Gods have any business in Hindu temples. They aren't some "human or Indian heritage" or tourist nonsense. They don't concern "Indians" at random, forget "everyone". Hindu Gods and their Temples, like all of Hindu religion, is a private affair of *Hindus* alone.

2. Mohendra pretended to wonder: "I wonder if Dalit Hindus can enter such temples?"

Another christianist question.

Harijan have temple entry. As they should: it's for all *Hindus* who are attached to Hindu Gods. This deep mutual familial bond between the Hindu Gods & their Hindus is why Harijan communities--like all other Hindu ones--don't just regularly go to see their Vedic Gods at Hindu Temples but are long known to do pooja to their Moorties in their homes, as well as other very *Vedic* Hindu rites like food[-with-ghee] offerings to their Hindu Gods.

A good start but to continue
If YSR the ex-CM were to be now,he would not have allowed the rule to sign and enter into the temple for christians. As per some comments here that there is no bar for entry into the temple unlike puri jagannath and guruvayur Krishnan where no other religious cult is allowed even by signing faith etc. Whereas in tirumala temple only faith in balajee has to be declared and entered. As per another comment that dalits R not allowed into the temple is also not apt because lakhs of devotees including dalits and even other faiths throng into such temples with certain devotion or intution whose caste and creed do not appear on their faces and R free to enter. Only people with malintention of pamphlets distribution on christianism etc. could be caught being conspicuous. Atlast some sincere action has been initiated by tirumala officials in favour of Hindu psyche and hope it is strictly followed. Other faith people thus also can enter into temple if with no mal-intentions. It is here seen the employees of tirumala temple of other faiths R the culprits but not seems to be people entering into temple. All the concerned erring employees need to be transfered to other depts away from temple administration. This is all happening in most of the Andhra big temples where christians R employees in temple admn. I heard of such temples like SRISAILAM, SIMHACHALAM(where the temple executive officer himself is christian placed at the time of ex-christian CM YSR including ysr's brother-in-law as chairman of Tieumalai that time.

@ Chrissal
You are absolutely wrong. A Muslim or a Christian can not visit Hindu temple to have 'darshan' of the deity therein. He/she can not have such business. Rather, he/she would come to see with own eyes the 'abomination' of Pagans to bow their heads before an 'idol'.

Not enough
It's not enough. Hindus *need* to:
1. Demand of all Indians who seek entry to also denounce in writing the "jesus/god/allah" character (i.e. denounce christianism/islam), and hold them to it forever. For perjury, they should go to jail.

All reverts must have had shuddhi performed too.

Hindu temples are not "Indian" sites: non-Hindus have no rights to them.

2. No foreigners should be allowed in either. (Else you will get not only Sonia Mainos wandering in, but the all-too-numerous crypto foreigners pretending to be "converts" while trying to inculturate or worse. See Gautam Sen's writings on how foreign "converts" are regularly undercover anti-Hindus working for christianism.) Hindu temples are specifically not tourist attractions either. They're solemn places where Hindus privately practise their sacred religion.

All Hindu Temples need to implement 1 and 2, especially the major ones that are regularly being plagued.

Venkatesha (Vishnu) and his Devi Consorts are Vedic--i.e. Hindu--Gods. And they will have nothing to do with the ideology of christianism=islam that has genocided so many all over the world and which ideology is "an EVIL Lie" as revealed by the learned Roman Emperor Julian himself in his important critical work "Contra Galilaeos". (Note that Julian was steadfastly loyal to his Greco-Roman Gods, so he is trustworthy.)

People should not be allowed to have one foot in the dangerous jesus/allah fiction of christianism=islam and, on the other hand, pay lipservice to Hindu Gods/religion. Cannot allow mixing of the EVIL Lie with the Vedic religion of Hindus' Gods. It's unconscionable.

Hindus realizing the truth
Though bit late, Hindus are slowly waking up to the reality of religious encroachments of others. Since it happened at one of the greatest centers of Hindu worship, many people who are emotionally attached to Lord Balaji would hopefully take this seriously.

Not Wrong.
Don't make Hinduism like some other religion, whereas only people from particular faith can enter the holy place.
Hindu temple should be place for every Human Being, regardless of their faith...as long as their intention is good.propagating of other religion MUST be condemned but those come to the Hindu Temples with a sincere heart for the darshan, shouldn'd be penalised because of some VVIP idiot that have no respect for the religion.
